WELCOME TO MY WEB SITE
A passion for boats in all their multitude of variety has always been a major part of my life. Like Ratty in Kenneth Grahame's "Wind in the Willows" I have never been happier than when simply messing about in boats! Over the years I have built boats, skippered boats, drawn and painted boats. As a boy my school books were ornamented with sketches of Viking ships and anything else that floated on water.
The painting shown on this page is titled Passing Cape Pillar. It was painted in 2004 as a commission and is 48 inches x 27 inches. The painting shows the blue gum clipper "Harriet McGregor" passing the Union Steamship Company's merchant steamship "Rotomahana". The painting shows the ships at the entrance to Hobart's Storm Bay, close to Cape Pillar, with Tasman Island in the background.
